Recreational Coaching

Every coach at the MSC is a volunteer. Some of these volunteers are very talented and have a lot of knowledge about the game while others are new to coaching and soccer.  In order to improve the standard of our coaches we provide some educational materials in a number of different forms and levels. For our recreational coaches we provide education materials in two forms through coaching manuals as well as through coaching clinics

Risk Management

Per MSYSA, our governing body, every Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager, Trainer, (League) Board Member and Volunteer must certify for Risk Management. This is to ensure the safety of all our players. Kids look up to and admire their coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, and managers and it is vitally important to us and parents that precautions are made in order to keep a safe and fun environment.

The MSC must create an account for you in the www.gotsoccer.com program. If you need an account created please send an email to Drew Emrich at MidlandSoccer@MidlandSoccerClub.org. When emailing the club please include the following: DOB, home address, email, phone number, and full name. After the account is set up you will receive a confirmaiton email that will require you to complete the registration process.

Recreational Coaching Manuals

We have coaching manuals online for use by our recreational coaches. We understand that many of our recreactional coaches are taking on coaching responsibilties for the first time.

Recreational Coaching Clinics

Seasonal Coaching Clinics will be given to recreational coaches.  These clinics are age appropriate; they cover the material included in the coaching manual and trainers are there to answer any questions.

Clinics are focused on introducing various aspects of youth soccer, enhancing the technical development of young recreational players, and just getting out and playing a little soccer. All sessions will be headed up by our Director in training, Drew Emrich and assisted by additional trainers for the MSC staff and other experienced recreational coaches.
